semaine deux

this week was kinda sucky for a few reasons: 1. i hate the workshop that my group is in this week. it is just dumb icebreaker-type games in a classroom. boring. childish. 2. i am pms-ing. 3. i haven't gotten any mail from jordan (or anyone else) yet. 4. my name hasn't been drawn for any of the little field trips this week. 5. my class is too easy for me, i think. but it is okay. i think this week will be the worst. after it, the mail will start flowing in, and my workshops will change to better ones, and my pms will be over, and hopefully class will start to get a little more challenging. tomorrow we are going on a boat trip to hopefully see whales (les baleines) and seals (les foques). tonight we are having a tex-mex party, and tomorrow we are having a louisiannaise/mardi gras party, because a lot of the students here are from louisianna. i like that i am learning a tiny bit of history about the acadians/cajuns/french/british, because it definitely will help me understand history for native people here and west of mississippi better. i didn't do a whole lot this week because my name wasn't drawn for any of the field trips. i mostly just napped, typed letters, and crocheted. i DID manage to get some old favorites (in english!) out from the bilingual library here, so i've been chillin in my room with edward estlin, john donne, milty, ondaatje, and huck finn and tom sawyer. i think i'd go crazy without those boys.
