comma chameleon

apparently, the Conservative government just went through some budget cuts, and one of the programs that lost funding is young professionals international with foreign affairs canada. which means that this is the last year that the program i am in right now will be running. sad. pretty amazing that i got into it when/how i did, though.

highlights for today included:
-continuing my love affair with apostrophes and commas by way of reading more of eats, shoots and leaves
-enjoying more than my fair share of some deliciously tender beef
-having my first "bath" here - in a white plastic barrel cut lengthwise. it was UNBELIEVABLY enjoyable, and will be done more often.

Caylie!

Hey you, I love that you are blogging about punctuation while you are having a foreign adventure. Just a word of caution...lynn truss' second book really stinks ('talk to the hand'). if you want your relationship to this book to remain the same, don't pick up the next one. i ended up throwing it across the room after getting 3/4 of the way through. i realy liked 'eats, shoots and leaves' too though.

haha. i just e-mailed joel to say, "have you/bethany read 'eats, shoots and leaves'? because if you haven't, DON'T! and i will buy it for you (plural) for christmas." and he said the same thing as you, that he had read it and loved it but hated her second book. so thank you both for the advice, because i was seriously considering buying that book too.
