bury my heart at innisfree

some things i liked this week:

1. i went longboarding at the u of a last saturday, and i heard some squawky birds, so i laid down to watch them. one of the magpies flew away, but one flew close to me. first, he pecked at some gum that was stuck to the side of a bench, and then he pecked at a big bolt on the bench. then, he made eye contact with me, and kind of tilted his head, and we watched each other. he hopped over to me, and looked at my legs, and then hopped around to the other side of me. then he started pecking at my shoes and trying to eat them. i was laughing sooo hard, but he still kept doing it. cute. it reminded me of richard seine.

2. driving out of edmonton on highway 16A: i was behind a big, dirty semi and there was something pink dragging underneath it, near one of the back wheels. so i sped up to see what it was; to see if it was what i thought it was. and... indeed. it was a little girl's pink bodysuit with a tutu attached. part of me really liked it and wondered at it, and part of me felt really sick about it.

3. i like that my friends have been so supportive of my trip, especially andrea. nice to have support, even when you ditch out on fun vacations.

4. i liked reading jenni-girl's blogs. nice how she writes. nice what she writes.

5. i liked how hard it rained a few nights ago. i am excited for the rainy season in guyana.

6. i liked coming home for the fair with jenni, and seeing kelsey and mitch and andrea and trent. i liked that my grandma and gido came over to visit, and that they are so funny and crazy. i like that kelsey is so crazy about cotton candy. i like that i can spend time with her in calgary before i leave. i liked picking raspberries with andrea, and talking about soccer.
