saturday!
i crocheted some maroon mittens for jenni, so that she will give back my green ones. and because i like her and i don't want her hands to get cold.

i went to the grouard powwow. megs couldn't come because her family was tearing down their house, but i did see a few familiar faces and i did give my number to a double-A hockey player with no front teeth from the blood reserve who is attending the kapow'n treatment centre in grouard. awesome. he seemed friendly enough. he seems pretty committed to fixing his life up, so that's rad. also: i do not have a crush on him. so don't think that. okay? he said he does some traditional crafts, so i might get him to teach me some.

i daydreamed about the kind of regalia i'd make for myself if i danced. i declined an invitation to round dance with the boy mentioned above. i saw my favorite dancer (he's an older grass dancer from driftpile, and he is sooo rad). i received a yellow plastic bowl in the giveaway. i drove myself home at about 11, and was delighted to see the northern lights dancing as i had hoped.

i like being around people who respect dance so much. i like that no one says, "i can only dance after i've got a few drinks in me." i like seeing people who dance for themselves and to honor the people and things that they love. neat.
