msn'ing with my mom, regarding religion/faith/life:
"the right stuff is what is right and true across almost all time and cultures, and that is usually about caring for each other and the earth" - my mom. so smart.

I think the "usually about" part is important. This year I've been realizing that God, His love, and his action(redemption) are all revealed through nature too. They are not suburban america exclusive either. Yeah?

mmmhmm. i've always kind of had some idea of that, being as in love with the rural albertan landscape as i am, but it's becoming more and more apparent in the last couple of years.
when i did the training for this job (a 10-day wilderness camp in the rockies, culminating in a 45-hour solo), i was feeling kind of gross because there were all these pagan, nature-y (i totally don't mean those in a bad way) people who "communicated" with nature in a way that i felt i didn't/couldn't. but then when i was on my solo, it was so crazy. i just had this amazing experience in which nature "talked" to me, but in a familiar way. i came out of it feeling really comfortable with my self/Creator/creation relationship. i'll tell you about it sometime if i see you.
