a few nights ago, i was sitting at windies sports bar (across the street from the rima, chosen because it is one of the few restaurants nearby which accept credit cards), reading a book, eating chicken kebabs and drinking fresh passionfruit juice, watching soccer on t.v., and listening to dance mix '96, and i realized that i could have a really good life here if i wanted it. i don't want it. but i hope my future includes little vacations that look something like this, and that then, i can be accompanied by people i really like, like emily or kelsey.
that was all kind of ruined when this guy across the bar snapped my picture. i looked up at the last second, right before he took it, and i made an ugly face to ruin his picture. you can't just go around, taking people's pictures, man. he came up to me at the end of my meal, and said, "excuse me. is this the best picture you can give me?" i said, "uh, i guess not..." and desperately looked for a way to end the conversation. i was unsuccessful. he continued pressing for information, and i told him i didn't have a phone number (i don't!) but that i did have an e-mail, and blah blah blah. i really hate it when men here try to talk to me, because for some reason i just can't lie to them. i am pretty sure i am going to be the victim of identity theft sometime in the near future, because when people ask me direct questions, i can't help but answer them honestly and completely. i staunchly refused to let him take me out anywhere, but he insisted on at least paying for my meal. i tried to decline, but again, i was unsuccessful. so... free meal. and he didn't even eat with me. i have my pasty white skin to thank for that free meal.
